What is an eBook?

An eBook is an electronic version of a book that can be accessed through our proprietary online reader or mobile app. The AAP eBooks platform allows users to read on any screen on our responsive site with a current browser and Internet connection. eBooks have the look of print books, with all of the layout, figures and images intact.

eBooks are fully searchable. Users can search for terms in a single title, across their purchased titles, or across the full site. Users can also print multiple pages at a time. Hyperlinks, media files, and other enhancements are accessible by clicking links in the content.

All AAP parenting titles and select professional titles are available for purchase in Amazon, iBooks, Kobo, and Nook with support for the devices served by those stores.

How do I use AAP eBooks?

Online: You can read your eBook on any device with a current Internet browser and online access.

Offline: AAP eBooks free reading apps for Apple and Android smartphones and tablets are available for offline downloads of titles.

AAP eBooks does not currently support downloads for computers or non-tablet eReaders such as E Ink devices, but all AAP parenting titles and select professional titles are available for purchase in Amazon, iBooks, Kobo, and Nook with support for the devices served by those stores.

What are the technical requirements?

Online: Current browser and Internet connection on any device. Recommended minimum browser versions are Internet Explorer 11, Firefox 40, Chrome 30, Safari 5, or Opera 20.

Offline: Tablet, smartphone, or media player running at least iOS 6.0 or Android 4.0. Click here for more information about the free AAP eBooks Reader app.

Individual Access

How do I purchase and access my eBooks?

AAP eBooks can be acquired in multiple ways. Individuals can purchase single titles for the life of the edition through shopAAP.

AAP eBooks are available upon purchase, with no wait time for shipping or processing. AAP eBooks uses the same AAP account information as other resources, such as shopAAP, Pediatrics, PediaLink, and Pediatric Care Online. If you have difficulty logging in, please clear your browser history and try again by going to the eBook and logging in when prompted. You can retrieve or change your username and password here.

Individual purchases are life-of-edition and are not automatically replaced with new editions.

Log in the shopAAP My Digital Library page for a list of the titles on your account, and click the "Open" button to launch a title in your browser. You can also log in at AAP eBooks and search or browse by title.

Do you provide samples of your eBooks?

What are the member benefit titles?

Select titles are available as benefits of membership to AAP or certain member types. For more information, log in to your MyAAP member area or contact us.
