Permissions & Content Licensing

American Academy of Pediatrics Book Permissions & Licensing

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has partnered with Copyright Clearance Center and its RightsLink® service to process all permission requests for AAP published material. To request permission, first locate the book with the content you wish to reuse on http://ebooks.aappublications.org.

On the book’s landing page, to the right of its description, click "Get Permissions." A RightsLink order page will launch immediately (turn off your pop-up blocker if it does not appear).

Indicate how you would like to reuse AAP content by completing the online form. Then log in to your existing RightsLink account (or create a new one), complete the transaction, and save or print your license.

If you have any questions about permissions or require additional assistance, please contact CCC RightsLink Customer Service at 855/239-3415 or customercare@copyright.com.

General Information About AAP Permissions & Content Licensing for Repurposing and Reuse of Content

  • Authors who wish to reuse their own previously published material in a new publication for which they are the author (or editor) must go through the RightsLink process. For “Describe who will republish the content (person or entity)...,” the author should select “Author of requested content.”
  • The AAP can only approve permission requests for material owned by the AAP. Please ensure that any material used in an AAP book is not credited to another source. Otherwise, you must contact that source directly.
  • You must reproduce any material exactly as it was originally published by the AAP. No deletions, alterations, or other changes may be made to the information or statistical data without written consent of the AAP.
  • To request permission for material not covered by RightsLink, please contact the AAP directly.
