What is an eBook?
An eBook is an electronic version of a book that can be accessed through AAP’s proprietary online reader or mobile app. The AAP eBooks platform allows users to read on any screen on AAP’s responsive site with a current browser and Internet connection. eBooks have the look of print books, with all of the layout, figures and images intact.
eBooks are fully searchable for quick answers. Users can search for terms in a single title, across their purchased titles, or across the full site. Users can also print a page at a time and zoom in. Hyperlinks, media files, and other enhancements are directly accessible by clicking links in the content.
Individual eBooks are updated when errata or substantial fixes are required to a title, but are not automatically replaced with new editions.
How do I use AAP eBooks?
Online: You can read your eBook on any device with a current Internet browser and online access.
AAP eBooks does not currently support downloads for computers or non-tablet eReaders such as E Ink devices, but all AAP parenting titles and select professional ones are available for purchase in Amazon, iBooks, Kobo, and Nook with support for all of the devices served by those stores.
What are the technical requirements?
Online: Current browser and Internet connection on any device. Recommended minimum browser versions are Internet Explorer 11, Firefox 40, Chrome 30, Safari 5, or Opera 20.
For access on Android tablets such as the Kindle Fire or Barnes & Noble Nook with a primary app store other than Google Play, go to Settings > Applications and make sure "Apps from Unknown Sources" is turned on; then open the AAP eBooks Google Play link in your device browser and install (requires a Google Play account).
How can I get support?
Contact firstname.lastname@example.org or use the “Get Permissions” link on the eBook detail page if you would like permission to use the content in a course or publication.
How do I publish with the AAP?
To publish with the AAP, you should have a great concept for a clear audience, and the time and focus to be able to write a manuscript and/or manage a group of excellent coeditors/coauthors. To get started, please contact AAP Publications at email@example.com.
How do I purchase and access my eBooks?
AAP eBooks can be acquired in multiple ways. Individuals can purchase individual titles for the life of the edition through shopAAP.
AAP eBooks are available upon purchase, with no wait time for shipping or processing. For individual users and users connected to institutions, AAP eBooks uses the same AAP account information as other resources, such as the MyAAP member area, Pediatrics, PediaLink, and Pediatric Care Online. Your username is your AAP ID number for most people, or your e-mail address if you have registered for HealthyChildren.org, or otherwise set that as your username. If you are having difficulty logging in, please clear your browser history and try again by going to the eBook and logging in when prompted. We are working on improving seamless authentication from the shopAAP My Digital Library page and from the Table of Contents links on book landing pages. You can retrieve or change your username and password here.
Individual purchases are life-of-edition and are not automatically replaced with new editions. Purchasers will have the opportunity to be among the first to learn about new editions when they are released.
Log in the shopAAP My Digital Library page for a list of the titles on your account, and click the "Open" button to launch a title in your browser. You can also log in at AAP eBooks and search or browse by title.
Do you provide samples of your eBooks?
All AAP eBooks have open content that users can see before purchasing. Click the “Read Now” button on the description page for a free preview.
How do I synchronize my past purchases?

What is your return policy?
Due to the nature of the item, and unlike printed versions of a book, e-books cannot be returned. Once the eBook is purchased, the sale is considered to be complete and final.
